Why Wednesday at Sweethearts Terraza

While most mid-week dining deals across Surry Hills, Darlinghurst, and Kings Cross revolve around pub classics and discounted mains, we’ve gone a different direction.

Our Wednesday offering lets you enjoy our favourite Yucatán menu items designed by Executive Chef Roberto García — the same chef behind Marrickville’s San Pancho Taqueria and formerly of Alpha Sydney and Saffire Freycinet.

This isn’t a scaled-back version of our regular menu. It’s a standalone experience, giving you great value, built specifically for a cheap mid-week dinner on our stylish Mexican rooftop.

Sweethearts Terraza sits on Level 3 of the Potts Point Hotel at 33–35 Darlinghurst Road — a 120-seat open-air rooftop with terracotta tones, lush greenery, and views across the Kings Cross and Darlinghurst skyline. We’re under five-minute’s walk from Kings Cross Station and right on the border of Surry Hills and Darlinghurst, making us one of the most accessible rooftop dining options for a Wednesday night out in Sydney’s inner east and CBD.

Our Sope Menu

Every sope is pressed and fried in-house, topped with refried beans and crema, and finished with your choice of filling:

  • Crispy Cactus — lightly charred nopal with a satisfying crunch (vegetarian)
  • Pulled Short-Rib — slow-braised beef short rib, rich and tender
  • Spiced Pumpkin — roasted with warm Mexican spices, avo & salsa macha (vegetarian)
  • Aged Chorizo — topped with avo, onion, coriander & crispy pork crackling
  • Tikin Xic Fish — Yucatán-style barramundi marinated in achiote and citrus
  • Pulled Adobo Chicken — smoky, slow-cooked chicken in dried chilli adobo

All served alongside bottomless totopos with fresh guacamole — refilled as long as you’re at the table.

Perfect For

After-work drinks and dinner in Potts Point Skip the CBD crowds and head straight up to the rooftop. At $28pp with a $10 margarita waiting on arrival, our Mid-Week Dining is one of the easiest after-work dinner options near Kings Cross Station — no booking, no fuss, just walk in.

Catching up with friends The bottomless format is made for sharing and grazing. Bring a group of any size, work your way through the sope menu, and keep the totopos coming. No split-bill stress — it’s $28 each.

Trying Mexican food without the commitment Not sure what a sope is? Our mid-week set menu is a low-risk way to explore authentic Yucatán flavours crafted by Executive Chef Roberto García. Try the Tikin Xic Fish or Pulled Short-Rib without committing to a full à la carte spend.

Budget-friendly rooftop dining in Sydney’s inner east Rooftop restaurants in Potts Point, Darlinghurst, and Surry Hills don’t usually come at $28 a head. Our Wednesday offer is one of Sydney’s best-value rooftop dining experiences — open-air, 120 seats, skyline views, and no booking required.

Groups and small celebrations Mid-week birthdays, work farewells, or just a reason to get out on a Wednesday — our walk-in format means you can rally a group without the usual back-and-forth of restaurant bookings. For parties of 10 or more, get in touch with us directly.

Hospitality workers on their night off Wednesday is the industry’s weekend. Our walk-in & reservation format, $28 price point, and late-evening rooftop setting are built for hospo locals across Kings Cross, Darlinghurst, and Surry Hills who want a proper sit-down meal on their day off.

Inner-east locals exploring something new If you live in Potts Point, Kings Cross, Darlinghurst, Surry Hills, Rushcutters Bay, or Elizabeth Bay, our Wednesday Mid-Week Dining gives you a reason to make Sweethearts Terraza your regular midweek spot — a weekly neighbourhood ritual on the rooftop.
